Here’s a good read on Link Building with press releases. While press releases are good for seo, they do not make up a link building strategy on their own and certainly are not the most important aspect of a link building strategy. I’ve seen a lot of companies out there doing nothing but press releases and spending a lot of money to do something effective, but not effective on it’s own, and that can be done elsewhere. As the author of this post points out, links in press releases aren’t all that natural. And if you are submitting press releases to the same pr site over and over, you’re only gaining more links from the same website. A balanced plan for link building would include press releases as one of many options to gain inbound links, including articles and directory listings.
